Superb… I love finding these hidden gems! It’s a bit of a ride outside of Montville to reach this lovely restaurant, but it is certainly worth the trip. Secrets is located in the trees aside Lake Baroon, which is a lovely, tranquil setting for the restaurant (and accommodation as well). The menu is varied, with a range of choices for every palate, and there is quite a good wine list as well. We have visited Secrets several times now, because the view is wonderful, and the cuisine is delicious and well-priced. It is a great place to catch up with friends. Service has always been faultless. There is a number of good restaurants dotted around the Sunshine Coast hinterland, but we have yet to find one better than Secrets on the Lake.

What a gem this place is. The surrounds & the view over the lake are just beautiful. The service friendly, welcoming & perfectly timed. The food was lovely and very generous servings. For me to be unable to do dessert is unheard of! The owner very kindly showed us one of the tree houses available for rent, and it was truly superb. The carved timber and stained glass beautiful, and again, a view to die for from the front veranda with a carved timber, swing seat for two. This will most definitely become one of our favorite places to dine.

My husband and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary with a fabulous dining experience at Secrets recently. The service was stellar, Cecile and Di were wonderfully attentive and the perfect mix of friendly, fun and professional (I am so sorry, I did not catch the other lovely ladies names, but they were great too!). I always love it when people’s special dietary needs are taken into account without compromising the amount of choice (we applaud the number of gluten free options in every course). We were overwhelmed with choices and every course was utterly delicious. I could go on and on, suffice to say, you made our special day just perfect and we felt like we were back on our honeymoon. Thank you so much.

Secrets café/restaurant is beautifully situated seemingly in the tree tops looking down onto the peaceful Lake Baroon. The menu was extensive to cater for all tastes, including vegetarians, and the quality and presentation of the meals excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the Barramundi I had and my husband loved the slow cooked Lamb Shanks. We also loved the dessert of Kaffir Lime Crème Brulees. The service was prompt, friendly and professional, and the wine list quite wide-ranging. The restaurant is made more interesting by virtue of most beautiful wood carving on doors, pillars and other items of furniture - all done by local wood carvers . This was a unique and memorable feature.

As a frequent visitor to Secrets on the Lake cafe, I always wonder why it has a name like Secrets! This venue needs to be talked about and mentioned to everyone that likes to eat. The premises are imaculate, also, so nice to enjoy clean (non sticky) tables to eat from. The welcome everyone gets from the staff, is genuine and extremely pleasing. The food is without complaint and the hot drinks are nice and hot, not lukewarm, where you feel like gulping it down, before it is too cold to enjoy. The atmosphere, being on the deck in the tree tops and amoungst some of the native birds and occasional lizard, is so relaxing and healing, to all the business, we take there inside our busy stressed brains.

Secrets Cafe is amazing, It overlooks a lake and has picturesque views. The food served was sublime. I would recommend having a champagne cocktail to start. We had chicken pies which had the best flaky pastry on top that I had ever eaten. My pavlova was delicious and the sticky date pudding was light and fluffy. I would also recommend the strawberry smoothie - made with real strawberries, it was sublime. This place is worth going to see and eat at. The setting is beautiful and the food is fabulous. Highly recommended.
