At Secrets, we believe the world goes around on kindness… not just giving money or things but giving time and of yourself. We are constantly humbled by and grateful about each and every one of our staff, suppliers, treehouse guests, Dining on the Deck patrons, and wedding couples, and their ongoing support and commitment to our business. We want to ‘pass it on’ wherever we can, and this October and November we are giving a ‘Helping Hand’ and running a raffle to raise money for 3 local charities. We live in a beautiful part of this planet… blue skies, beaches and blessings everywhere you look. As we race from job to home it is often easy to take this all for granted, and to forget that some of us do it pretty tough. Thank goodness there are some amazing organisations around that don’t forget.
We really hope you get behind our fundraiser and buy a ticket or two when you pop into Secrets or some of the local businesses in the hinterland over the next few months. Each ticket goes in the draw to win one of 5 main prizes… either a 1 or a 2 night midweek stay in one of our world-class treehouses, or 1 of 2 restaurant vouchers for a meal at Dining on the Deck, or a $100 voucher for Mane Street Hair and Beauty. Every cent of your raffle ticket purchase will go towards supporting the Shack Community Centre and Lily House!
The raffle will be drawn at a special fundraiser morning tea on Thursday 28th November starting from 9.30am and going until approximately 11am. Members of the public are invited to come to see the prizes drawn while enjoying a tasting plate of morning tea morsels. There will be lucky door prizes including a night’s stay and others, a guest speaker and some fun guaranteed. Please make a booking. Morning Tea $15 with all profits going to the third charity we are raising money for – Maleny Neighbourhood Centre.
Tickets and Morning Tea bookings can be purchased at Secrets on the Lake, online at email@example.com or by phoning (07) 5478 5888.
We live in a society where teenage homelessness is dramatically rising, domestic violence is rampant, and many young pregnant women and mothers are offered little or no support as they face the future. For the last 11 years, Lily House accommodation centre seeks to directly address this problem by providing tangible support and accommodation for these women at the moment they need it most! Lily House is staffed and maintained totally by volunteers on the Sunshine Coast.
The Shack Community Centre
The Shack Community Centre was established in Nambour over 17 years ago to provide for the needs and concerns of our diverse community. There are a range of small group programs for men and women ranging from Drug and Alcohol groups to Domestic Violence support groups, accommodation referrals, and a multitude of other services. The Shack is staffed and maintained by a committed group of volunteers, the community of churches and many families who have given their time and resources to support over 10,000 people.
The Maleny Neighbourhood Centre
MNC is a welcoming, multifunctional community space in the heart of Maleny, that provides opportunities for community connection and well-being for young people, families and the broader community. MNC provides emergency relief and accommodation, counselling, and raising awareness and community development.
