When we created Secrets in the Lake, it was always about creating a unique, magical place perfect for romance and relaxation. Although most of our treehouses have been designed for couples bearing this in mind, we have also created two spaces perfect for families or groups of friends. Our Whistlestop cabin and The Nest penthouse treehouse are a fantastic family escape right in the heart of the rainforest and a short walk from the lake and the Obi Obi Creek Great Walks with its many rock pools and swimming holes.
Christmas has always been about family for me, and now that I have grandchildren, Christmas has become even more special. My grandchildren are starting to learn the ins and outs of Secrets on the Lake, our family business. Evie and Arama help out in Secrets Dining on the Deck restaurant, Nellie loves baking and is able to pump out batches of scones and biscuits for our hungry hoards, and they all help fold letters and stuff envelopes when it comes time to send out our guest Christmas card to an ever growing list of Secrets guests. You can relax… we don’t expect your kids to pick up a tea towel and muck in to help out!
We understand family dynamics and have tried to make it really affordable for you to bring your children along for a family breakfast, lunch, or morning/afternoon tea. We have kid’s activity packs to keep the rug rats entertained. We have a special lunch menu just for kids. We have special kids breakfast options, and a half price for kids deal on any of our main breakfast meals. Our Early-bird Breakkie deal gives adults a free tea or coffee with every main meal purchased before 9:30am. This Christmas, Dining on the Deck is also happy to provide a free glass of juice for the kids too (as part of this Early-bird Breakkie Deal).
At this time of year, it is good to know that ‘adult escapes’ and ‘quality kids time’ don’t need to be mutually exclusive. So next time you want to escape the heat to Montville’s hinterland hills just bring the whole family along… because at the iconic Secrets Dining on the Deck there really is something for everyone, and at a price that keeps your back pocket jingling ‘ho, ho, ho’…
