I love winter in the hinterland. The crisp air over foggy mornings as the cloud of mist slowly burns away from the winter sun over beautiful Lake Baroon. The open fires crackle and the cosy knee rugs are snuggled over many of the knees of Secrets Dining on the Deck restaurant patrons. The creeks and waterfalls are pumping from all our recent rain and the rainforest is glorious in its abundance and lushness… making this time of year perfect for exploring our many walking trails.
Don’t be caught out! Whether it’s a daytrip adventure, romantic getaway, family escape, or even a secret proposal… remember to put a coat or jumper in the car when you are visiting our hills. The mornings are pretty crisp and temperatures cool off at night as the sun hides behind the hills. We had this year’s record at 3 degrees overnight a week or so back! Secrets on the Lake is only 30 minutes from the sunshine coast, and 15 minutes from Nambour or Palmwoods… but we are a few degrees cooler thanks to the mountains and the lake!
But… if you did forget your coat, and you wanted some respite on a chilly hinterland winters day… we have you covered. Secrets Dining on the deck has heaters throughout, and a huge basket of fleece knee rugs to take the edge off any of winters worst.
